Satranjis, the traditional rugs, come from only Rangpur in Northern part of Bangladesh. This particular craft is practiced by traditional women weavers under threat from industrialization. Once a luxury at the Mughal court these rugs still survive against all odds. Now these highly textured and brightly colored rugs may reach anyone.
